Brace of flintlock pistols

Someone on GPS did a brace of these and inspired me to do my own.  I immediately went to Walmart and paid $2.00 eaches for these.  This was my first time using Rub-n-Buff and I am pleased with the results.  The parasolusous is my daughters and the other is mine.  I wish I could remember who first posted it to give them credit.

Day 28-Pirate Chest

Tada.  A pirate chest.  It is not finished but I did the lid today and added hinges.  I still need handles and latch.  Oh yeah and staining a squid on there some where and leather straps.  And a tray inside.  The current thought is to put my D&D stuff in and put it under the game table.  The second photo has my daughters sitting on it to show scale.  Hmmm I wonder what they are planning with this chest.

Wow 28 days of making things.  This was my fourth year and the toughest for me.  Thanks everyone who posted and encouraged me on.  Thanks wonderful wife for letting me go and create for month just to see what I make.

Day 26-Circle Skirt x 7

This evening I went to a sewing volunteer night to make costume for my daughters dance production, The life of Cosette.  Tonight, in collaboration, I made 7 circle skirts.  I forgot to take a camera and will post a photo when I can.

Day 25-Pollen Slides

This has been on 4 TAD lists running.

I collected the pollen from Powell Gardens just to make these slides.  Pollen is fascinating to look at.  It is different between dry and wet.  It is kinda flat when dry and swollen when wet.  Spikey buggers, no wonder they make you sneeze.  I t was like second nature to make these.  I have not used Canada Balsam to make permanent slides before.  But it did not slow me down.  The first slide is at 40x.  The second is at 10x because I could not find it at the higher magnifications.

Day 24-Coffee Liqueur

Day_24

I cannot beleive there are only 4 days left.  Hmmm what to do?  What to do?

Today I made coffee liqueur from coffee I roasted in my backyard.  I used a recipe from here.  It still needs to filter in a month.  And be shelved for three after that.  But there it is.

Day 23-New Joint

Day_23

So far I have learned how to rabbit, bridal, half-lap, and half-lap-mitered.  And tonights new joint is finger?, knuckled?, notched?!.  Well whatever it is called this step has slowed me down.  Now in short time I can make a new jig to meet my needs and get on with the build.

Day 22-Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction

This was a timed test.  How many weapons can I make in 30 min.  What a blast this was.  I plan to make more.  I think the last photo is the one that could really take an eye out.

Day 21-Symet junk bot on a breadboard

Day_21

Here is a junkbot that my wonderful wife bought for Christmas.  I pulled it out for tonight's thing.  The solar panels charge the capacitors and when they are charged it releases the energy to run the motor.  So it charges for 15 seconds and runs for 5 seconds with the lamp at my desk.

Day 20-Finishing touches

Last time that the solder station is in TAD.

I wanted to add some details to the station to create back ground story.  It starts with a craftsman who made this box to help him do the repairs on his ship.  The wondrous submersible HMS Cephlododia.  It is owned by the next crewman who had that position and the next and the next.  In special order I think of them as Buddhist, Naturalist and Sailor.
